It’s been announced the first stage musical based on Fushigi Yugi, the manga created by Watase Yuu. This will be the first of a two part proyect and it will be titled Fushigi Yuugi ~Ake no Shou~. The stage play will run from April 8 to 15 next year in the Owlspot Theatre of Tokyo. there will a total of 15 performances. The company that’s running this adaptation have worked before in other stage play adaptations of this manga but this is the first musical.
Tanaka Reina, former member of Idol group Morning Musume, will play the main role, Yuuki Miaka. This will be her first stage play since her graduation from Morning Musume in 2013. She calls herself a big fan of the original manga and said she’s exited of playing Maika.
